Roller Swage Tooling

This tooling is designed to push a FRANTZ Manufacturing Company 4003 Bearing into a typical 1.9” diameter x 16-gauge tube, crimping the end of the assembly, thus securely locking the bearing into the tube. By simply changing the center piloting knockout sleeve, the tooling will also work with 1005, 1815,  GenII®, and various GenStar® bearings.

Press Requirements

• The press must have a method of consistently stopping its stroke to prevent “dog-boning” of the roller ends.
• The press must be capable of enough pressure to buckle a 1.9”-16ga tube but have a relief valve to limit that pressure to less.

This tool is designed to press and crimp a 1970 series bearing into a 2.5” –11ga tube, securely locking the bearing into the tube. Utilizing the tooling can often eliminate costly reaming operations and specially-sized tubing! The tooling also produces a nicely rounded roller end.

Press Requirements

• Stroke required with longest (1.100”) axle extension.
• Air Supply 75 – 125 PSI, ¼” NPT
