  • ABEC -1 Core Bearing
    Designed for high speed (exceeding 400rpm), long life, low noise levels, and double sealed from contamination. These conveyor bearings contain special front and back rubber seals that are bonded to metal washers providing effective protection against contamination such as moisture and dust particles. These seals are light contact which minimizes the seal drag allowing for lower starting torque and rolling friction. The lubricant forms a barrier between seal lip and the inner race further preventing smaller particles such as dust and moisture from entering into the rolling elements. Load capacities on the Core Bearing ranging from 1,260 lbs. to 2,260 lbs.

  • IronGrip Carbon Steel Housing
    Swaged tight will outperform plastic housings and provides Frantz® GenStar® conveyor bearing assemblies with superior load capacities from 300 lbs. to 1,000 lbs. Further, plastic housed bearings add assembly costs by requiring that tube ends be prepped and de-burred prior to installation. Conveyor bearings with IronGrip housings eliminate this additional costly operation. Competitors with metal housed precision offerings will not publish their assembly load capacities.     • Sprocketed Roller Bearing Mounts for Chain Driven Live Roller (CDLR) applications have traditionally been performed prior to welding the sprocket on the roller. While welding after assembly works well for all metal Commercial Unground Non-Precision conveyor bearings, the intense heat distorts polypropylene isolator sleeves that provide precision bearing assemblies with their cushioning quiet characteristics. Therefore assembling sprocketed rollers with precision bearings continues to be a challenge for conveyor manufacturers. FRANTZ engineers have developed a solution to this problem. Tooling is now available to insert and swage GenStar® Precision conveyor bearings into rollers after the sprocket has been welded to the roller.   • Unibody Polymer Insert
    Injection molded directly into the ABEC-1 Core bearing insert cannot be pushed out of the bearing assembly by the axle lugs and springs unlike like the pressed “spider” latching inserts used by our competition. Designed by FRANTZ engineers and custom molded to our specification, the insert is made from specially formulated polypropylene that discharges any accumulated static electricity, improves concentricity, and ensures quiet operation at 50 to 56 Decibels.

  • Polymer Isolator Sleeve
    Is uniquely designed for GenStar 2.5” and 3.5” bearings. Unlike competitor bearings that utilize a core bearing fit directly into the adapter housing, FRANTZ directly molds an “isolator sleeve” into the assembly that lies between the core bearing and the IronGrip adapter housing. Swaging on competitor bearings puts undo pressure on the core bearing impeding its performance.

    In snub roller applications for belt conveyors the design of the bearing allows for an aggressive crimp of the metal adapter, compressing the polymer "isolator sleeve" while preventing pressure against the rolling elements.  This crimp secures the bearing in the tube in a superior fashion compared to the competition.  The Benefit: Truer high speed snub roller performance and fewer roller failures reducing conveyor down time.  Additionally, less costly tubes may be used as more exact tube tolerances are not required, while often eliminating the need to counterbore prior to the swaging process helping to reduce total cost due to the enhanced flexibility of the FRANTZ bearing in the swaging process.

    FRANTZ  “isolator sleeve” provides “peace of mind” in your swaging process and provides flexibility when dealing with tubing thickness variation. Unique to FRANTZ!

    Designed by FRANTZ engineers for a superior fit and mount is available for FRANTZ® GenStar® Precision bearing models. Costly reaming operations are eliminated as is the need for specialty sized tubing. Constructed at FRANTZ using high quality tool steel.
